The Border Security Force (BSF) has lodged a protest with Pakistan Rangers over unprovoked cross-border firing at a forward post on the India-Pakistan border here, injuring two BSF personnel, officials said on Friday.
The BSF raised the issue with Pakistan Rangers in a commandant-level flag meeting at a border outpost (BOP) near the International Border (IB) in RS Pura sector on Thursday evening, he said.
According to officials, two BSF jawans were injured after Pakistani Rangers opened “unprovoked firing” on border guards along the International Border at Vikram BOP in Arnia sector here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, BSF officials also raised the issue of cross-border drug smuggling and said they had pictorial evidence of smugglers killed by the force, officials said.
He said, as usual, Pakistan Rangers denied their involvement.
